Air One's network is growing

The summer flights to various Mediterranean destinations have been presented

The growth of Air One’s network of domestic and international destinations continues and intercontinental flights are about to take off. Air One will add new international destinations to those already operative with other European cities (Athens, Thessalonica and Brussels from Malpensa, Athens and Brussels fro Rome Fiumicino) and will add 11 new domestic, international and intercontinental flights to its Milan-Malpensa operations starting this summer.Of particular note are the two new flights to be operated, the first Air One intercontinental operations, to Boston and Chicago.

In the summer season, from June through September, the flight schedule becomes even more interesting.Air One will begin operating new routes to Mediterranean destinations in order to meet the summer tourist demand. The new network of destinations was presented by Sales Manager Antonio Temporini during a press conference held at the Borsa Mediterranea del Turismo di Napoli (Naples Tourism Fair for the Mediterranean), one of the most important events for the tourist industry held from 4 to 6 April.  

More destinatoins with Air One this summer
During the summer season, Air One will activate new routes from Rome-Fiumicino to various tourist destinations.Some of these destinations are new to the Air One network; others are a confirmation of last year’s success.
From April 12th to September 27thAir One will connect Rome Fiumicino to Athens’ InternationalAirport.
From June 1st new flights will become operative from Rome-Fiumicino to Corfù, Heraklion (Crete), Larnaca (Cyprus) and Malta. These flights will have a twice weekly frequency (oone on Saturday and one on Sunday) until September 7th.
On June 4th the Rome-Fiumicino to Splitflight will be inaugurated. The flight will also have a twice weekly frequency (Wednesdays and Saturdays) until September 7th.
From June 6 Air One will initiate another flight to Croatia. The Rome-Fiumicino – Dubrovnik flight will now have a three times weekly frequency (Monday, Friday and Sunday) until September 7th.
On June 7 the flights to Spain will take off.Air One will inaugurate new flights from Rome-Fiumicino to Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca until September 7. In the months of June, July and September there will be a flight on Saturday and one on Sunday. In August these flights to the two islands will be operated on a daily basis.

The summer schedule also offers flights from Milan-Linate on new routes to the Italian islands Lampedusa andPantelleria, destinations which are also active all year round from Rome, Palermo and Catania. The summer flights from Milan will operate on Saturdays and Sundays from June 7 to September 7.
All of the flights to the summer destinations will be flown on A320 Airbuses and Boeing 737s of the Air One fleet.

One of Europe’s youngest fleets

The rapid expansion and improved service quality which have characterised Air One in the past few years, an intrinsic element of the goals proposed in the 2007-2011 business plan, has also included the progressive renewal and expansion of the fleet of aircraft in operation.The Company has confirmed purchase orders for 90 A320s Airbus, of which 14 have already been delivered and are operative; the remaining aircraft are on a one per month delivery schedule. Furthermore, ten new 90-seat Bombardier CRJ900’s were delivered in 2007 for use on its regional routes, while the new intercontinental flights will be operated with two A330-200s Airbus. By the end of the year the fleet will be composed of circa 60 aircraft. By the year 2012 Air One will have one of the youngest fleets in all of Europe. 

Added services to our passengers
Air One, always seeking ways to make air travel easier for its passengers, offers:

  • self check in:permits the passenger to check him/herself in for the flight and get a boarding pass at any of the numerous self check in terminals at Rome Fiumicino, Milan-Linate and Malpensa, Turin, Naples, Genoa, Trapani, Bari, Venice, Lamezia Terme and Catania airports;
  • fast track: this service lets premium clients pass through security checks at specially reserved booths, reducing waiting time in line and getting them into the departure area more quickly.
  • web check in:lets the passenger check in on line up to two hours before the flight and print out a boarding pass directly from www.flyairone.com;
  • Air One Welcome Lounge: There are Welcome lounges, run by Air One, at Rome Fiumicino, Milan- Linate and Turin. At the other airports, Air One passengers may use the VIP lounges of the airport itself.
 
In 2007 Air One had over 37% of the domestic market share. With its 3000 employees (including those who work for the holding company) Air One flies to 23 domestic, 10 international and 2 intercontinental (starting in June) destinations, plus many other destinations with its code-share partners. In 2007 Air One carried more than 7.5 million passengers to their destinations and registered an income of circa 700 million euros.
